Summer Reading Guide

Explore all forms of reading

If you like quiet reading time, your local library is a great place to explore all forms of reading on offer. Let your friendly, expert local booksellers and librarians know your interests and they’ll have some top recommendations for you. It’s also a great place to connect with book groups, author talks, and holiday reading events and activities for children and adults.

Read, share and enjoy!

There’s a stellar program of new Australian reads coming out in 2023 by the fantastic Australian authors and illustrators partnering with us to celebrate Australian Reading Hour!

We’re so excited about the return of the Australian Reading Hour program that brings together an abundance of in-person and online reading events hosted by booksellers, libraries, and schools across the country. This celebration of reading will culminate in a special real-time, live-streamed event on Thursday 9 March 2023.

Australian Reading Hour 2023 has a short and sweet message: read, share, and enjoy!

There are so many ways to celebrate! You’re invited to get involved.
