From Monday November 27 to Sunday December 3 join Street Library Australia in celebrating National Shared Reading Week.
National Shared Reading week is an opportunity for street librarians – young and old – to connect with their community, and enjoy the shared benefits of reading.
According to Street Library Australia:
“Your Shared Reading event can be as low-key or as crazy as you like. It can be in your front yard – a quick 5 minute read with a book selected from your Street Library – or it can be in your school hall or community centre with a special guest. It could be an afternoon of lazy poetry with your friends. All you need is a registered Street Library, at least one book, and a small audience.”
Signing up is free, and participants will recieve a Shared Reading Week pack which includes an event badge to add to your local Street Library.
Street Library Australia will publish details of all Shared Reading events via their event map so that communities around the country can search events near them.
Find out more and register to participate via the Street Library website.
