Lunchtime Reading with Hachette Australia

To celebrate Australian Reading Hour on 9th March, 2023, Hachette Australia will be hosting a lunchtime picnic reading event at the Stargazer Lawn in Barangaroo between 12.30-1.30pm. All Sydney-based Hachette employees have been invited to byo their current read to laze under the trees and share in the unique and joyful act of collective reading.

This year, Hachette has opened the invite to members of the public who would like to join in this memorable event. On offer for the first 100 people is a free proof copy of an upcoming Hachette release. There is no need to RSVP, just come along and join us!

Promotion will be led through Hachette’s TikTok account, with a call to action for readers and BookTokkers alike to join in, and the proof copies on offer highlight authors and genres popular on the platform, including Chloe Gong, Jessa Hastings and newcomers Maiya Ibrahim and Sarah Street.

All four authors are from (or based in) Australia or New Zealand.  The event will also be promoted on Hachette’s Instagram and Facebook. You never know, one of these exciting authors might even join in the fun to sign books and meet readers on the day. We love reading at Hachette and we are thrilled to be able to join with other bookaholics to celebrate on 9th March.
