“Incarceration” Author Talk

Hear the remarkable story of Farzaneh Djalalian, her resistance, survival and new life in Australia, all documented in her book Incarceration: My five years as a political prisoner in Iran. Farzaneh Djalalian became politically active in her home country of Iran after a change of government restricted the lives of its citizens. The new Islamic government closed all the universities under the name of educational revolution. Farzaneh couldn’t be silent any longer. She became politically active with one of the opposition groups, Mojahedin. After a year of her political activity, she was arrested during a big protest. She spent five years in jail, eventually managed to flee to Turkey and finally made her way to Australia on a humanitarian visa in 1991. Copies of the book will be available to buy on the night.
