Sarah Giddy

Sarah knew, even in primary school, that her dream was be a children’s author and illustrator. In 2021, she graduated from a Bachelor of Visual Art and Design with the Dean’s Award for the most outstanding major work – a complete mock-up of an illustrated novel. This novel, Flight of the Drakkonbarq, will be released in September 2025 by Riveted Press.

Sarah likes lying under trees, roaming through bookstores, splashing in the ocean, drinking tea, and teaching high school Art and English. In her illustrations, she enjoys exploring a range of creative practices, from traditional to digital. Sarah’s writing, like her art, expresses an unconstrained delight in the beauty of the world, coupled with a sensitive awareness of human struggles, joys and longings.
