Katrina Kell is an Australian author. Her award-winning writing includes literary fiction, young adult novels, short fiction, poetry, essays, and journalism.
Katrina’s 2024 novel Chloé (Echo/Bonnier Books UK) won an Australian Society of Authors Unpublished Manuscript Award Mentorship. Chloé was also longlisted for the Queensland Writers Centre Adaptable Program – Turning the Page to Screen Program in 2024.
On 4 September 2024, Katrina appeared as a witness at the Descendants Day Hearing of the Yoorrook Justice Commission in Naarm (Melbourne). She was a guest speaker on the SBS program Insight ‘Recognising Our Past’ episode in October 2024, and her first-person article, ‘My ancestor’s actions led to atrocities against Indigenous people. I want to tell the truth’ is published on the SBS News website.
Katrina is an Honorary Research Associate at Murdoch University. She lives and works in Boorloo (Perth) on the unceded lands of the Whadjuk Noongar People.
