Sarah Armstrong

Sarah has written three novels for grown ups (including Salt Rain which was shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Award) and two novels for children (Big Magic and Magic Awry) with a third kids’ novel (Run) coming in 2025. In a former life she was an ABC Radio journalist, where she won a Walkley Award. She teaches writing to adults and children, is a writing mentor and manuscript assessor. Her school presentations are dynamic and fun, with the aim of sparking a love of reading and writing. She takes students behind the scenes of a writer’s life and gives them practical writing tools. She is part of the Five Writers Five Minutes podcast on writing craft.
