Reimena Yee

Reimena Yee is a graphic novelist, illustrator, designer and arts manager. Reimena is an award-winning creator of multiple comics for adults and children, including Séance Tea Party (2020); My Aunt is a Monster (2022); The Carpet Merchant of Konstantiniyya (2020, 2022); The Makers Club series (2020, 2021) and Alexander, the Servant & the Water of Life (2023). Her work is licensed in multiple languages and is recognised internationally with an Eisner Award nomination, a Comic Arts Australia Award, an Angoulême Sélection Jeunesse and an ALIA Notable, among others.
Reimena is an advocate for the engagement of comics in public life and an independent scholar of the comics form. She is the curator behind the Comics Devices Library, the co-founder and co-organiser of Southeast Asian collective UNNAMED and the international peak arts body, Cartoonists United, and co-organiser of Melbourne Alternative Comics Expo. She occasionally works as a freelance editor for other people’s comics.
Reimena is originally from Malaysia with a recent immigration background. She is based in Naarm.
