R.A. Spratt is a best-selling author, smash-hit podcaster and award winning TV writer. She has written 32 middle grade books including the ‘Friday Barnes, Girl Detective’ series, ‘The Adventures of Nanny Piggins’ series, ‘The Peski Kids’ books, and several collections of short stories including her most recent ‘Epically Good Greek Myths’. For YA audiences she has written ‘Romeo v Juliet’ and ‘Hamlet is Not OK’, which Booklist (the American Library Associations described as being “a refreshingly different, wildly imaginative take on Shakespeare’s Hamlet”.    R.A. is also a successful performer. Her hit podcast Bedtime Stories with R.A. Spratt has been downloaded over 7.8 million downloads worldwide. Her live storytelling shows have played to sold-out theatres across Australia. She has narrated 15 audiobooks. And R.A has performed at the Dymocks Children’s Charities Great Debate for the last four years.   In her career as a TV writer, R.A. has worked 35 different shows. She won four AWGIEs and an ARIA for comedy writing while working as a staff writer at Good News Week. She wrote for Emmy Award winning show I Got a Rocket. Her pilot script for Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs won best adaptation at Cartoons by the Bay. She also won an AWGIE for her work on Sydney Sailboat.   R.A. lives in Bowral NSW with her husband and two daughters. She has a dog, three chickens and four goldfish. Her hobbies include CrossFit, bellringing and espaliering fruit trees. She is an ambassador for Dymocks Children’s Charities.
