Kyra Geddes

Author of Literary Fiction

based in NSW

Kyra Geddes gave up a successful career in marketing to pursue her lifelong dream of writing a novel, combining motherhood with a return to university where she earned the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Academic Excellence. The Story Thief is her debut historical novel, and the culmination of almost a decade of research and writing. Inspired by her earliest childhood memories living in the South Australian opal fields, it is a feminist retelling of Henry Lawson’s classic Australian story, ‘The Drover’s Wife’; a family saga that doubles as the story of Australia’s coming of age in the first half of the twentieth century. A passionate art lover, traveller and Sydneysider of mixed German-Italian heritage, Kyra does her best to suppress her perfectionist tendencies and live la dolce vita.
