Kirsten Ealand

Kirsten Ealand writes fresh, relatable books for kids that she hopes will leave the world a better place. She lives in a little patch of rainforest on the Far North Coast of NSW, where she enjoys an alternative lifestyle with her family and neighbours. She has a background in primary and ESL teaching but now works in her local public library getting kids excited about books and reading. Her debut picture book Like a Gannet was released in 2024 and is a joyful first-experience story about courage and one girl’s journey to dive off the board at the local pool. Coming in March 2025, The Big Backyard Plan is a fun, heart-warming picture book about living next door to your best friends and a brilliant plan to make it even more amazing, if only you can convince their parents.
