Katie White
Author of General Nonfiction
based in NSW
Chef and author Katie White trained at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu London and since then has worked for restaurants in London as well as on retreats in Europe. Across these roles, her creativity was used both in a marketing/social media and food photography, and other times as a chef catering for retreat guests.
She is also the author of The Seasonal Vegan (Affirm Press) which you may recognise from Kmart and other book stores all around the Australia.
She has cooked on SBS’s The Cook Up as well as Channel 7’s The Morning Show on multiple occasions. Before leaning into her love of home made and home grown food, Katie was a professional singer/songwriter for 15 years. She won 3 WAMI awards, and toured extensively as a professional musician. These years of performing are what give Katie the ability to connect with audiences everywhere and hold space on stage or in front of a camera very naturally. Katie is passionate about sustainable, flavor driven food and due to her time living in England, Italy and France, her recipes are usually European orientated. Celebrating vegetables wherever possible and old fashioned methods of food preparation, her dishes are both fresh and gourmet, hearty and rustic. Katie is driven to inspire people to spend time in their own kitchens and give them confidence to be creative; She does this through her cooking school in Byron Bay and also through her online and media work.
