Jodi McAlister

Jodi McAlister is an author and scholar of romance fiction. As an author, she’s written novels for both young adults and adults. For young adults, she’s the author of the paranormal romance Valentine trilogy – Valentine (2017), Ironheart (2018) and Misrule (2019) – as well as the campus rom-com Libby Lawrence Is Good At Pretending (2022). For adults, she’s the author of the reality TV rom-com Marry Me, Juliet trilogy – Here For The Right Reasons (2022), Can I Steal You For A Second? (2023), and Not Here To Make Friends (2024). Her new romantic comedy for adults, An Academic Affair, will be published in 2025.

As an academic, she has published numerous journal articles and book chapters about popular romance, as well as the sole-authored books The Consummate Virgin (2020) and New Adult Fiction (2021), and the co-authored book Publishing Romance Fiction in the Philippines (2023).
