Jake Gablonski is a Wiradjuri author, broadcaster and media personality from Katherine in the Northern Territory. A proud First Nations and LGBTQIA+ storyteller, Jake is passionate about creating stories  and facilitating conversations that help people feel seen, valued and connected.

Drawing on his experiences growing up in the Top End, Jake’s debut picture book, Brave Like Bunji, explores themes of courage, identity, belonging and self-acceptance through the eyes of a young boy and a rainbow lorikee guide learning to embrace what makes him unique, navigate big feelings and leaning on support.

Alongside his work as an author, Jake has spent more than a decade working in media across television, radio and digital media, and collaborated with high-profile impact campaigns such as RUOK? day. His career has included working with MTV, Nickelodeon, Network 10 and ABC, where he has interviewed celebrities, covered major events and championed diverse voices and perspectives.

Through his writing, speaking and media work, Jake hopes to inspire young readers to celebrate who they are, embrace their individuality and wear their true colours with pride.
