Graeme Simsion
Author of Literary Fiction
based in VIC
Dr Graeme Simsion is a former consultancy CEO who decided at the age of fifty to become a writer. His debut novel, The Rosie Project, won the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for an unpublished manuscript, was ABIA Book of the Year and spent sixty-five weeks on the NYT bestseller list. With its two sequels, it has sold six million copies in forty-two languages and been an important contributor to the conversation on neurodiversity.
Graeme’s other international bestsellers include The Best of Adam Sharp and the Two Steps series, written with Anne Buist—both books optioned for movies. His Novel Project is a highly regarded guidebook for writers.
His current focus is the Menzies Mental Health series, co-written with Anne. The Glass House was a number one indie bestseller and has been widely praised for its portrayal of mental health issues. Book 2, The Oasis, is published February, 2025.
Even prior to switching to writing, Graeme was a regular keynote speaker and seminar facilitator in Australia and internationally. His and Anne’s 2024 Great Australian Bookshop Tour was (we believe) the biggest event of its kind. His style reflects his books: addressing important issues while remaining entertaining and accessible.
