Emma Bowd is an internationally published and award-winning author of books for adults and children; an experienced presenter; and a passionate children’s literacy advocate.
An in-demand speaker in schools (ELC to Yr 6), she enjoys sharing her love of words and creativity, along with her inspiring author journey from a background in science and occupational therapy.
Emma loves to capture the joy of childhood in her rhyming picture books, and has forged strong links with many independent bookshops and libraries throughout Victoria with her interactive Story Time and craft sessions.
Her two picture books with Affirm Press, the bestselling The Day You Were Born and This Is My Happy Place, followed her debut, Wonderful Shoes (Windy Hollow) which was a CBCA Notable Book (Early Childhood) in 2022 and appears on Play School story time (ABC Kids TV, Series 5). She has three more picture books being published with HarperCollins Children’s Books (Australia).
Emma has lived in Asia and many parts of Australia, as well as spending eleven years in London – where she worked in both the public and private sectors. She now lives in Naarm/Melbourne on Boonwurrung land with her family.
