Dee White is the award winning, international author of 30 books for children and young adults.
Her middle grade historical fiction, Beyond Belief, was a finalist from 1400 entries worldwide in the 2020 Screencraft Cinematic Book competition, a SCBWI Crystal Kite finalist, and a CBCA Notable book.
Her latest book, The Hullabaloo About Elephant Poo, a hilarious picture book about the surprisingly sustainable uses for elephant poo, is out with HarperCollins Australia in December 2024.
Dee has two new picture books due out in 2025 with Walker Books and Windy Hollow.
She will do almost anything for a good story, including jumping out of a plane, touring the Paris sewers, and sneaking up on an elephant.
Dee runs writing classes and workshops at schools and festivals throughout Australia and online at writingclassesforkids.com. She’s passionate about engaging young readers and supporting young writers to tell their stories.
Dee is cofounder of Author Pen Pals and believes that everyone has the right to see themselves and their lives represented in the books they read. She is also involved in the DANZ Children’s Book Award established to celebrate diversity in children’s books published in Australia and New Zealand.
