Dannika Patterson works with words to delight, empower and inspire children.
She has written numerous Australian picture books for children, including Jacaranda Magic, Scribbly Gum Secrets, Hedgehog the Wonder Dog, The Silverback’s Song, Heavy, Zoom, and The Big Book of Rights. Dannika has also written two graphic novels, one published poetry collection, SeaSpray17: Ocean Photography & Haiku Poetry, and her first middle grade novel is due to be published in 2026.
Dannika’s books are used widely as resources in Australian homes and schools, helping open relatable conversations about important topics.
Based in Brisbane, Dannika enjoys visiting schools, kindergartens, libraries and festivals all around Australia to share her books and story-driven workshops, where she uses her knack for sparking wonder through words to educate and entertain children in a warm, joyful way.
