Dannielle Viera has been involved in the Australian publishing industry for almost 30 years – first as a copywriter and then as an editor, project manager, proofreader and author. She has been published in numerous adults’ and children’s anthologies, in The School Magazine and on the Australian Children’s Poetry website.
In 2020, her kids’ poem ‘Hatastrophe’ was published in the Harry Potter-inspired Fire Burn, Cauldron Bubble: Magical Poems Chosen by Paul Cookson (Bloomsbury UK). In 2021, her first illustrated children’s book, Amazing Grace, was published by Library For All; two more kids’ books, Lily’s Gift and Heart of Gold, were published by Library For All in 2024. In 2023, her debut picture book, The Leftover Lemon Dilemma, was published by Loose Parts Press.
Dannielle is involved in the kid-lit industry in a number of ways. She conducts author talks and workshops at Western Sydney primary schools, and runs WestWords writing workshops for kids and teens at Western Sydney libraries. She reviews children’s books for the Buzz Words website, and she is a member of SCBWI. In addition, she is represented by the CKT Speakers Agency, which allows her to share her love of books and reading with children of all ages.
