Bonny Cassidy

Dr Bonny Cassidy is the author of three poetry collections, including Chatelaine (Giramondo, 2017) which was shortlisted for the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards; and one book of acclaimed literary nonfiction, Monument (Giramondo, 2024). Bonny’s poetry has been widely anthologised in Australia and commissioned internationally; her essays and criticism on Australian literature and culture have also been published in magazines and journals around the world. She has undertaken residencies and festival appearances from Antarctica to Belfast; and has facilitated public writing workshops and readings around Victoria. Bonny holds a PhD (English) and worked for fifteen years as a scholarly researcher and lecturer in Creative Writing. She is now studying a Graduate Diploma in Psychology and building a practice as an independent writing teacher and narrative psychotherapist. Bonny presents a program, ‘Make/Believe’ on MainFM community radio; and is an Honorary Fellow of RMIT University. She lives in a piece of remnant box-ironbark forest outside of Castlemaine, on Dja Dja Wurrung Country.
