Allayne writes Children’s and Young Adult literature. In 2023, Allayne’s #ownvoices novel Sensitive won Most Outstanding Book for Young People with Disabilities from the International Board of Books for Young People (IBBY). Her YA novel Selfie (Text Publishing) was shortlisted in the 2024 NSW Premier’s Awards, and Allayne has thrice been shortlisted in the South Australian Literary Awards. Allayne has been listed for numerous other awards, including the CBCA, Davitt Crime Awards, Australian Speech Pathology Awards, and the Children’s Peace Prize for Literature. Allayne is a multiple arts grant winner. Her books have been published in Sweden and Russia. When not writing, Allayne paints and plays guitar, and loves presenting to high school students. She’s currently working on two more YA novels (because she’s a sucker for punishment.)
