Will Kostakis

Author of Young Adult Fiction

based in NSW

Will Kostakis is one of Australia’s most renowned authors for children and young adults. First published at nineteen, he writes whip-smart comedies that break (then mend) hearts.

His novel We Could Be Something is a moving intergenerational story that won the 2024 Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Young Adult Literature. It was also shortlisted for the Victorian and New South Wales Premier’s Literary Awards and the Queensland Literary Award.

Otis Ottley and the School in the Sky is his latest novel.

An advocate for young readers and writers, Will is the patron for Somerset Storyfest and an Ambassador for Dymocks Children’s Charities. He received the 2020 Maurice Saxby Award from the School Library Association of New South Wales for service to children’s and young adult literature.
