Inessa Jackson is an award-winning Sydney crime writer, Her debut crime thriller, Devil Mountain, won the Affirm/Varuna Mentorship Award and was published in June 2026.
Her first mystery novel was runner-up for the 2023 Banjo Prize and short-listed for the 2022 ASA/HQ Commercial Fiction Award. Before she fell in love with crime writing, Inessa backpacked around the world, worked in consumer PR, then settled into life as a stay-at-home mum. She has a passion for cheese, loves all types of Aussie fiction and is terrified of sheep.
