Justin Somper is the award-winning author of twelve books for middle-grade and young teen readers. His sequence of six VAMPIRATES books has been published in 35 countries and 25 languages. Justin’s new series PIRATE ACADEMY is set in the same universe as VAMPIRATES – but the two series can be read independently of each other. Author Eoin Colfer’s verdict on PIRATE ACADEMY was “Pirates done right! I love this world”.
Allen & Unwin publishes PIRATE ACADEMY in Australia and New Zealand. The series has also been published in the UK & Ireland (Fox & Ink Books), the USA & Canada (Penguin Workshop) and France (Saxo).
VAMPIRATES and PIRATE ACADEMY are both currently being developed as major live-action TV series – by RubyRock Pictures (London) and Princess Pictures (Melbourne).
Justin is also the author of two critically-acclaimed books for young teenagers, ALLIES & ASSASSINS and its sequel A CONSPIRACY OF PRINCES, both published internationally and described as “Game of Thrones for teenagers”.
A Brit by birth, Justin relocated to Perth, Western Australia in October 2022.
