Melissa Fagan is a writer, surfer and teacher living in northern NSW, on the unceded lands of the Coodjingburra and Minjungbal people of the Bundjalung Nation. Her book, What Will Be Worn (Transit Lounge) was published in 2018 and longlisted for the Mark and Evette Moran nib Literary Award in 2019. Her award-winning short fiction and nonfiction has appeared in publications including Island, OverlandKill Your Darlingsand Causeway/Cabhsair: A Magazine of Scottish and Irish Writing. Melissa was awarded her doctorate in creative writing from Curtin University and the University of Aberdeen in 2024. Melissa currently teaches and lectures in creative writing at Griffith University.
