R. M. McGurk has been a keen writer since receiving a scratch and smell sticker for a story in Prep. This was soon followed by Paddington fan fiction and a ‘chapter’ book called Gone with the Wind, with a problematic title and only two chapters.
Her debut picture story book, The Dinosaur Did It, was published in 2024 by Five Mile Books, and has since been published internationally. Her second book, The New Blue Scarf, was released in late 2024.
R. M. McGurk lives with her family on Wadawurrung Country in Victoria. When she’s not writing she is working as a primary school teacher, watching musicals and eating lots of lemon slice.
