Jackie French AM is an author, historian, honourary wombat (part time). She writes books for all ages, from picture books like Diary of a Wombat to historical fiction for adults like Becoming Mrs Mulberry.
She has won over 70 awards in Australia and overseas; been Australian Children’s Laureate; Senior Australian of the Year and Australian Literary Ambassador. She is dyslexic, and still can’t spell. She’s patron and ambassador for many organitations for children, literacy and wombats and a passionate advocate for the right of everyone to learn to read, and have access to the books they need to change their lives or change the world.
